Circulation section
Circulation section is the gateway between users and documents so it plays a major role to any Library and Information System. KIETW Library Circulation Section performs issue, renewal, return of books using BeeS campus Soft. Apart from these basic tasks many other jobs like membership registration, issue no-dues certificate, inter library lone, overdue fine collection, book reservation, various e-mail alert generation, etc. and all kind of queries by the users are being performed by this section.
OPAC - Online Public Access Catalogue
All the books may not be available on the shelf as many of them might have been borrowed by other members. To see a complete list of books on a particular subject one should look at the library catalogue. Library catalogue can also be used for checking particular titles by author's name, key-word or title. Library catalogue is computerized and can be accessed from a terminal in the library. Library catalogue can also be searched using a common web browser from any terminal located on the Campus.
Assistance in searching the catalogue or locating books is available from the Help Desk.
Automation
The KIET W Library uses BeeS Campus Soft Package, which is an integrated multi-user Library Management System that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The Bees campus soft consists of modules on Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Serials, Article Indexing and OPAC. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and more than 10000 bibliographic records of books available in the library can now be accessed through the Bees campus soft OPAC . The database of books available in the library is being updated on day to day basis with detail of recently Acquired books, records of all the library patrons have also been created in the Bees campus soft packages. To strength our circulation counters for accuracy and speeding up of operations Barcode Technology is in place.
